Little Nick
A pretty impressive chap For those of you who think you need time to plan a trip over here, Kaye booked her flights at the end of January and until Saturday night we had no plans at all for our jolly. In honour of St Paddy himself we sought inspiration from a bottle of Jamiesons and it all worked out pretty well. We had a great few days pottering around the south island:
Kaikoura for whale watching, harassing some seals & horse trekking.
Hanmer Springs for a soak in some stinky thermal water & a laze in the sun.
West Coast (AND it was sunny all the way) for Punakaiki Rocks & stunning coast line, including a cold paddle & unexpected drenching by a big wave.
Marahau in the Abel Tasman national park for some kayaking & general splashing around in the sea.
It was all bloody marvellous.
The pictures tell it all much better than I can. You'll notice there are lots of pictures of the sea and not many of people - that's the way I like it!
There are also a few pictures that belong on the last entry - had a mix up at the internet cafe & am too
Kaikoura
We were on a little boat like this tight to sort it out!
Apparently the pictures are coming out a bit dark for some people. I am taking them in 6m and then resizing them on the camera to upload. This might affect the res a bit. All I can say is that the pictures look all right to me and if you aren't too sure, come & see it all for yourself!
Accomodation recomendations are Blue Seas Motel (www.blueseasmotel.co.nz) in Kaikoura and Nautilus Lodge Motel (www.nautiluslodge.co.nz) in Motueka
