Only 15 days until Christmas!!! wooo. Back on the Kiwi Bus this morning and joined by Jess, Lizzy, Emily and Amy!! Straight onto the ferry to take us from the North Island to the South Island, it took 3 hours to get to Picton, 45 minutes of which spent looking at the young calves in transport below us. They squeezed 12 calves in each tiny compartment, I just hope they were going to greener pastures!

We arrived at Kaiteriteri a small seaside resort, where my Dad apparently lived for a year! We arrived about 4pm so went for a quick walk along the beach and as the tide was out we went exploring the rock pools, finding lots of mussels and cats eyes. Me and michael then went for a game of mini golf, I was really good of course but mike was better and won by only 5 points!! To my defense he was saying things to put me off but I cant actually tell you what as is far to rude for the mums! We celebrated with bangers, mash, and beans 😊 and Santa claus the movie to get us in the christmas spirit. S x.

We went for a quick walk to one of the beaches but had to leave due to so many sand flies, so we walked upto a view point. The weather wasn't great so we just hung around until the bus left at midday. We headed to westport which was a bit of a ghost town as it was Sunday and nothing was open. Did the usual tea, computer and then watched the Departed.

Drove down the highway 6 on the big green kiwi bus. Raining again today. Went on a short walk to see one of the largest seal colonies. We did't hang around as it was really wet but managed to see some seals fighting and some lazing around. We then drove some more to the pancake rocks and blowholes. The pancake rocks are a series of stratified limestone stacks which over the years have been eroded to look like lots of pancakes stacked up. We then went onto Greymouth to pick up our fancy dress costumes for the 'P' party. Then headed to the poo pub where the beds were in a container out the back. We met the owner called Les who was about 90 carried a gun and every other word was a swear word! The pub was situated on lake Mahinapua (hence poo pub) so we walked around that and went the beach to pick up the last of our props, some driftwood. We had a good feed that night with massive steaks, roast spuds and veg. The steak was the size of my plate! After tea we got ready for the fancy drress party. Me and Sophie went as pensioners. We got our whole outfits from a charity shop, trousers, shirt, jumper, night dress, night jacket and a hand bag for $6! We bought some talc, hair rollers and glasses for both of us. Everyone looked really good for a budget fancy dress. Emily was a pin up girl, Jess and Amy peg ladies, Lizzy and Frankie post its. There was a printer, paracetamol, period, Pamela Anderson, picnic and everyone got rather drunk playing drinking games with Pete the driver who came as a pervert. (He had a mirror on his foot to look up the girls skirts!) M x
