Auckland Harbour MON - had the most amazing shower with a proper fluffly towel to dry off!!! was amazing! id forgotten how good they were 😊 had a quick smoothie before setting off for Tawharanui. advised a stop at the look out over Orewa on the way and then another stop at the honey centre - that was good 😊 delicious honey and ginger smoothie followed by a honey and chocolate icecream 😊 shopping in warkworth, was weird being in this supermarket with mum and dad instead of cvnz as i had been on monday. got to Tawharanui at about 4.30 and got turfed out of the van whilst they sorted it out, went to the beach. its good to be back :D i cooked tea, with bullet blaring out he speakers in the van, first time id heard them outloud since sept 16th!!! soooo goooood!!!
TUES - took mum n dad on the ecology trail in Tawh today to try and teach them as many trees as possible before i leave them at th eend of the week, and also to show them what a patch of native bush is like. they loved it. instead of taking 1hr to get round

Mum having a giggling fit... it took about 3 because we kept stopping for them to take pics and to look at stuff 😊 glad they appreciate what i love, but it was inevitable really! oo before we got into the bush we saw two of Jenny's (team leader) Pateke ducks!!! they are very rare and she has just released 40 into Tawh to do her masters degree, she doesnt often get to see them as they are semi-nocturnal and shy so we were so lucky!! went to the beach after lunch, water was fairly warm so went in up to my waist 😊 went to the beach later when it was getting dark, beautiful 😊 was totally alone too so guess what i did...sang!! yay
WEDS - left Tawh at around 11, first thoughts to go to Waipoua to see Tane Mahuta then come back down to go to Tiritiri Matangi (sanctuary island for birds and native bush). However, once in Warkworth we changed our minds as Waipoua is hours drive away and it would be insane for Dad to drive al the way up and then all the way back the next day. we went to stay in Sandspit instead so we
could have a relaxing day today then go to Tiritiri tomorrow. nice campsite, waters so warm but only comes up to our knees so cant swim 😞 in the evening we heard someone yelling for help so went out to see what it was, very exciting and worrying obviously. turned out someones boat was sinking so they got out into the water and had had too much to drink, he was fine.
THURS - lazy morning, read on a bench over looking the sea with a cup of tea 😊 wandered along the beach, found some amazing rocks which looked like solidified bubbling mud pools, a plausible explanation. left at about 12 for a site near the harbour for Tiritiri, not the nicest site, a big holiday park in Red Beach, but its the only one we could get to near the harbour. we cooked food, yummy, i introduced mum and dad to kumara (sweet potato) then watched The Notebook on the DVD player the van has 😊 nice evening
FRI - up at 7.30 to go to Tiritiri Matangi island only to get a call at 8 saying the ferry was cancelled as it was raining too

Hibiscus much 😞 gutted. feel really sorry for mum n dad as everything has gone wrong in NZ for them so far! raining everyday bar one, vans going wrong, spending too much time up in northland when they could have gone travelling further, if they had known tiri would cancel they would have gone to coromandel on weds! bless them, i hope the rest of the time they have here picks up. we left by 9 for auckland to get the van fixed, went into Parnell for lunch whilst the van got fixed, had sushi in a small japanese restaurant - its great how cheap sushi is here :D - went to Chocolate Boutique Cafe after sushi to hide from the terrential rain, was amazing! had a raspberry chocolate torte, they had a caramel slice to share and hot chocolate, i had hot choc too but with chilli in. not your normal hot choc, was more of a very thick, rich, dark, chocolate sauce, ate it with spoons!! was absolutely amazing!!!! perfect weather for such indulgence 😊 said goodbye to them in parnell 😞 then they drove me to auckland, leapt out of the car quickly and off to acb. no

havnt seen a cat in a while :) rooms in acb, went to surf n snow, one room left thats a double costing $72 a night!! no rooms anywhere because Iron Maiden are playing in auckland tonight and its all booked out. went for the room in surf n snow, otherwise i would have been homeless for a night in the rain, not nice. rooms great :D i have a double bed to myself and a good view of the sky tower :D niiice. my own room for the first time in 5 months!!!! dumped my stuff then went to STA travel and booked my flight to australia - a necessary visit so i can come back into NZ on my passport visa instead of wasting a working holiday visa which i can only get once in my life, ill need it when i come back after uni 😊 back to surf n snow for a quiet night in with my book 😊
SAT - checked out and dumped my stuff in ACB storage, internet, checked in, went to foodtown to get my food for the weekend, internet, cooked food, went to the cinema. saw marley and me, great film, funny but i was in tears at
