I’d heard that Customs are strict in New Zealand so was careful not to bring any food into the country. However, I did have walking boots and had to declare these on my form. The "analemma" is a plot of each daily point where the midday shadow of the sun of the top of the obilisk falls. Constellations show which star at the point where the sun rises at that point. Remember this from my Ecuador blogs, where this symbol symbolised God for Pre-Inca peoples?

Nick, I think you should take up travel writing, your account is fascinating. I had wondered why we hadn't heard anything but then all those episodes arrived at once. Simply marvelous!!! Looking forward to the next episodes!
