Today we Left Auckland at about 9 in the morning and arrived at our accomodation on Waitomo at about 1 in the afternoon. We promptly wnet over the road to one of the tour opperators that offer guided tours through the caves in Waitomo and got involved.

The tour started with an absail into what they call the black abys (a big hole in the ground). when we rached the bottom we were attached to a zipline and sent through one of the caves which was fantastic, with no lights on you could see all the glow worms on the roof of the cave and there were so many of them that in places it looked like a glowing blanket. Next we had to get downd the river, to do this we sat in inner tubes and floated downstrem again with the lights off so we could take in the glow worms. After this we had to climb out of the caves via a series of water falls which was great fun.

The caves was a fantastic expirience although Casey got pretty cold in the underground rivers.
