Fur seal

Walking in Mana Bay, Patea, I was very surprised to come face-to-face with a large NZ fur seal. After putting @bruno_the_malshi safely in the car (much to his disgust), I grabbed my camera and tore back to grab some photos. The seal seemed exhausted and was quite happy just chilling out with his head resting on a piece of driftwood. It was a good reminder that we are in seal season here, with others being sighted on the main beach most days so dogs need to be kept on a leash, for their safety as well as to prevent them from harassing the seals.
