Wai-o-Tapu
The Champagne Pool Day 13 - drove from Miranda (on Firth of Thames) to Rotorua, stopping to get a leaking fresh water tank looked at on the way. (told it was a "design fault"!
Afternoon at Te Puia for lots of Maori culture and history and tour of geothermal areas mud pools and geysers.
More volcanic activity the next day at Wai-o-Tapu where we saw geysers, and amazingly coloured pools and deposits left after evaporation.
20th Feb drove to Wellington via Wanganui where we spend a long time in the Tram museum, getting the full history from a very talkative ex-Brit policeman! (Actually very interesting but it was difficult to get away!)
