With co-pilot Freya!
The highlight of our time in Rotorua was definitely Friday when we did a helicopter trip to White Island, an active volcano 50km off the coast, a real treat. -Thanks Sarah F for the recommendation!

We did an early morning trip so were there before any of the boat trips arrived, only one other helicopter there which left after twenty minutes, leaving us four and our guide as the only people on the volcano. We were staggered how relaxed it all was and how close to the crater we could get. All quite surreal. Without doubt, this was the most incredible experience of the trip so far. A combination of the exhilarating helicopter flight with our close contact to a volcano which is clearly very active was overall incredibly humbling.

Exhausted for the rest of the day!
