Hi everyone, So much has happened since my last confession… I am sorry it took me so long. I will try to update you all in the next few days but first I must recount my weekend trip to Guam on the first weekend of February. The Seoul Sisters are always looking for fun and rugby so why not head to Guam (a US territory in the South Pacific) to get some of that. When I heard about the planned tour, I signed up, anything to get out of Korea and travel. Plus, who goes to Guam? Has any of you ever been there? And why not have a 1000$ weekend once in a while? My second day of travel to Palau takes me to Guam. A tiny island in the middle of the North Atlantic through which most flights to places in the North Pacific seem to go. It was a strange, strange experience, as I had to go through U.S. immigration (always a bundle of laughs), only to find myself emerging from the arrivals onto a hot and rainy tropical island! I didn't know what to expect but it definitely did not feel like I was in the U.S. Nonetheless, what I got was a little slice of America, with the massive roads, MacDonalds, K-Mart, Hotels, Casinos, Strip bars and lots and lots of Japanese tourists. I stayed in Guam for more than four good weeks. It was another business trip with my second company. I remember landing at the airport, which was overlooking the city and the sea. Guam is pretty much small that we were able to drive around the main island of Guam in about two hours! I liked it. It was small and sunny. I can say it has the best of both worlds. As my boss says, you live a life like you are in the Philippines due to similar weather and timezone, but you earn green money! My coworkers were mostly immigrants from the Philippines. They say they make up more than 50% of Guam's population. The second largest group are the natives themselves, the Chamorros. Imagine that?! The natives are outnumbered by us Filipinos?!
