27-1-10 Wed, Cleaning day today & we did the washing, its hot again, 32 deg today. Our washing machine is fixed thank goodness & all is well with the van. We booked over the internet & printed out our tickets to go to the day-nighter cricket match between Australia & Pakistan on Friday, we are looking forward to that. 28-1-10 Thurs, Up early today as we have to be in Perth by 7am to have x-rays & an MRI on my back , That done it was 9am by the time I was finished & we headed back to the van, I had to be back at the specialist by 2.30pm. We had an easy morning , then went back to Perth to pick up my X-rays & then see the specialist. He was very nice & it appears I have a tear in my lower disk as well as a small bulge, which is causing the numbness & pain down my right leg. Time & pain relief will help fix it , but it may take a while. I am also having numbness in my left leg from the knee down to my foot & it gets really cold, but
that’s a mystery he’s not sure what’s causing that. So not to lift anything heavy & just be careful. We stopped off for a drink at our nice pub up the road from the park on our way home . We both had an early night as it dad been a long day & we are going to the cricket tomorrow. It has been 33 deg today. 29-1-10 up early & we caught the train to the Perth underground, where there were lots of guys dressed in Aussie clothes & wigs , ready for the cricket. We were early so we headed to get a coffee which was next to the pub & there were a lot of the crowd starting to drink at 10am. They were so funny, I asked for a photo with them. We got on the Red Cat Bus (free) & headed for the WACCA . We got there & all our bags were searched , we had taken four cans of soft drinks & we were not allowed to take them in, all in the bin, we could have taken plastic bottles. It was very hot 38 deg today, we had booked into the stands
& we were upstairs ,in the 2nd row right in the sun. It was so hot no one could sit there , so we moved back in the shade, lucky there were spare seats. It was 3.30pm before we got any shade. The cricket is so different than on TV, there is no commentary, but lots of music & people with big beach balls , throwing them around. There was a streaker, just down to his boxers , but security was onto them quickly. The crowd were getting a bit bored & started a big chain by collecting all the empty plastic beer cups & putting them together into a chain above there heads. They were not hurting anyone but the security came and broke it up & a few got arrested. But all in all it was a great day. When it was over we had to walk to the station as the buses were crowded & all the taxis booked, My feet & back were not good by the time we caught the train home. We had just poured a drink when Tara arrived, she had looked after the girls for us, could we mind her & 3
other girls as one of the Mum’s had had a turn & had to go to hospital & Jeff, Tara’s Dad was taking her in. The people over the road started fighting & throwing things, so it was not boring ,I got to bed at 3am, it had been a long day, but the kids Mum was OK thank goodness. 30-1-10 Sat. We decided to go down to Rockingham 36 km south of Perth, to have lunch by the sea, while we were there we stopped in to look at a Caravan Park on the beach. It was very nice, grass sites , new amenities, but the office was shut so will ring on Monday to see if we can get in. The Park we are in at the moment is terrible, the pool is dirty, there is no grass, the amenities are filthy, a couple of the neighbours are fighting & swearing at all hours of the night & it is so hot as we are inland, we are sick of it. We came home & both had a sleep as we are so tired. Sunday, 31-1-10 HAPPY BIRTHDAY HAYDEN, we miss you. Den washed the car & I
tidied up & did some washing, we then rang Hayden & spoke to him, he had a nice day. Kirsty was there so we caught up with her also as well as Corey & Val. We also talked to Mick, Nicky & Maddy. They are all good. We then had drinks with the neighbours over the back , Gary & Virginia & it was a very pleasant night. It was 32 deg today. 1-2-10 Monday, Den washed the Annex this morning & we clipped & bathed the dogs , we then went shopping & rang the Park in Rockingham, so we can get in & we will leave tomorrow. Den spent the avo packing up , as this is the first time we have taken the van out since we bought it. I packed away the groceries & got a baked dinner ready & we had tea with Tara & Jeff. It was 35 deg today . Tues 2-2-10 up early & packed up & we managed to fit everything in, hooray. I had a dentist appointment to finish off my root canal but when I went I was an hour in the chair & I have to go back
tomorrow as well, which is a pain. We left about 11.30 & were in Rockingham at 12.30 & had lunch by the beach & we were at the park at 1.30 when the office opened. We set up the van & just put the shade mesh up , there is a lovely breeze & green grass , even Jessie had a great roll around on it. We had tea & went to bed about 10pm . It was 28 Deg today but with the sea breeze it did not feel like it, we did not have the air con on at all. 3-2-10 Wed, we were awoken at 2am by the smell of fire & realized that it was coming from the park. We walked outside & the fire was coming from where there was 3 caravans & a car stored down the back. The fire brigade was called & everyone was out of there vans, it was 2am & there was great excitement , The rubber fence caught fire too & the smell was awful. It was 3am before we got back to bed. I could not sleep & it was 5am before I climbed into bed. I was
awake at 7am (feeling like a dog’s breakfast). We got ready to go to Kingsway for my dentist appointment, we got there about 11.30 & went to Centrelink & I went to Miller’s to buy some more fat clothes & Den got a phone call to say the Dentist’s sterilizing equipment had broken down & could we come back tomorrow, not happy Jan !!!! So we headed back to Rockingham 120km round trip, only to do it all again tomorrow. When we got home we went to look at the van that had been torched, there was nothing left of it, all melted. I had a Nanna Nap & then we took the girls for a walk on the beach & they had a great time. We walked back to the Park & started talking to the couple next door, Faye & Steven, we had a couple of drinks with them & then had tea. 4-2-10 Thurs we were at the Dentist by 10am, my root canal all fixed thank goodness & then I to get some scripts from the Dr’s. We headed back to Rocky & had lunch then took the girls for a swim & walk on the
beach , there was a nice breeze & it was only 26 deg today. We have not had the Air con on since we moved. I caught up on my blog, diary, photos & emails, while Den had a Poppy nap (not often he does that) we had tea & watched TV.
