The plan to tour the USA for 3 months and fly home from LA in September had been binned and the final leg of this trip now involved a flight with Air NZ back to Perth via Auckland. The three suitcases were bursting at the seams with new clothes and we were so excited to be heading to our new life! We left LA at 10pm on Thursday 6th June and the first flight was 12 hours.... 'Adventure Before Dementia Tour!' Our travels began on Boxing Day 2012 and we headed off for a 9 month trip around the world - via New Zealand, Australia, Cook Islands and L.A Six months into that trip my beautiful and talented wife was offered a job opportunity in Perth with a visa that would allow us both to live and work in this fantastic City for four years. Loved your adventure in Los Angeles
I stumbled on your blog by searching “30,000 pairs of shoes”. Great stories and photos and positive feeling comes through... I live in San Francisco and have visited LA and also stayed in a hostel, somewhere in Santa Monica was one and another near Disneyland. So how did everything work out? It’s 8 years later and you have stayed down under?
