We arrived at Quobba point and the first thing we saw was a sign saying KING
WAVES KILL.
We set up camp in the freezing cold and went to bed straight away, as this was our
first cold weather for a long time. We woke up the next day and did some fishing on
the beach. We only caught longtom’s so we did some snorkelling in the bay. It was
really cool because the reef was really good but the water was really low. Next we
looked at the blow holes which were massive. You get sprayed a lot. At the end of
the day dad did some more fishing while Ash and I made a monkeypault. We packed
up the tent the next morning and drove to Carnarvon. Dad and I did some busking at
the farmers market. We made some money . Mum also bought some bananas for
five dollars a kilo.
After the market finished we started driving south towards Shark
Bay. There was a storm along the way and we experienced our first rain since Airlie
Beach in Queensland. It was only raining lightly by the time we found a caravan park
in Denham, but it was really windy. We set up AGAIN!!. We slept AGAIN!!!. The next
day we drove to the Monkey Mia resort. Dad went out on a fishing charter. While
dad was away we played beach volley ball, watched a movie about the history of the
area, ran along with the dolphins on the beach and played with the pelican.
The next day we checked out the skate park, had a hit of tennis and threw the
boomerangs at the oval. We then drove out to Francious Peron National Park and hung out on the beach. We also had a soak in the artesian hot tub at the old homestead. We looked at the stromatalites (weird, ancient bacterial rocks that grow in the water) and visited a beach with no sand just tiny shells everywhere.. We went on the board walk and mum dropped her hat and the camera case. Dad had to go and get them.
We arrived at Murchison River Station in the late evening and set up camp.
When we woke up the next morning we found we had camped in a car and army tank grave. All the cars were really old and rusty. We were allowed to go in the army tanks and play war. We went for a drive into Kalbarri and checked out the surf. It was massive. When we got back we played with Aidan who lived at the station and then we drove to Finlays Fish BBQ (an outdoor grill where you play for free food). Dad and I played some tunes, earning about 12 serving’s of seafood, fish and steak.

We’re in Perth now with the Ayletts, We’re flying to Borneo tomorrow.

At last we arrive at the Aylett's place

Enjoy Borneo.
We caught up on your latest blog early this morning then lost the wireless so have read this since arriving home. Have a wonderful time in Borneo. I'd love to visit the orangatans. My daughter Kelly and her boyfriend went to a sanctuary after travelling in a powered canoe some distance up stream. She loved it. She said they were very cheeky and clever at avoiding doing as they were told. ie. they would sneak down a pole and grab bananas from a wheelbarrow and then dash back up a pole and look at everyone as to say, "Can't fool me". They were trying to entice them back within their boundaries with the barrows of bananas. We are all very envious. Say hi to the Aylett family from us. Have a great time. We'll see you all before too much longer. Regards Wendy.
