6-12-09 Happy Birthday Maddy, 3 years old today we miss you heaps!!!! & Happy Birthday Lorraine 50 something today. We talked to Maddy on Skype, we wished we could have been there for her birthday, next year !!! I don’t know what I will be like at Christmas missing Hayden, Maddy, Kirsty, Riley & all the kids & family. Well today we started to sort out cupboards & clothes etc & do some cleaning. After lunch Den watched the V8’s & we rang Lorraine & Ron, I had a nap & then cooked a baked dinner. It will be a pretty boring few days for the people that follow our blog as we are getting ready to pick up our new van.
7-12-09 Den went off for his interview with Centrelink for his iron problems, he went in by train as it was easier. I picked him up from the train & then he went to the GP to get his results from his colonoscopy , all good, he just has to have another one in 3 years. No Cancer that’s great!!! He goes to the Haematologist tomorrow to see what he says about his high iron level. I spent
the day cleaning the ensuite & bedroom cupboards & washing the curtains, I will tackle the kitchen tomorrow. My back & feet are killing me. I think a early night is in order. While checking the emails , a friend gave us a job tip so we applied for it. Well off to bed now. Sweet dreams everyone.
8-12-09 Another day packing, cant wait till its over. Went to the Haematologist & He was pleased with him, he has only one of the 2 genes that cause Haematosis so that could be causing that high iron. So we decided to treat it now, the specialist took out nearly ½ litre of blood & he has this done every 2 weeks for 5 to 10 times till his iron level comes down. The normal iron level is between 30 & 400 & Dens has been 760-650, 1000 is dangerous. After this he will donate blood every 2 months to keep it stable. We had take away tonight as we are still getting organised for swapping the van tomorrow. While eating tea, I broke my front tooth ( wonderful I look like the wicked witch of the west when I smile
) . I will have to get into the dentist soon.
9-12-09 Up early to go to an accessor in Perth for me for Centrelink , I caught the 7.15 train into Perth & was back at 9.30 am. Den had packed up the rest of the van & annex as after the Dr yesterday he was not allowed to do too much or lift anything heavy last night . So off to get the new van. Talk about a circus & a big day, We lined up the two vans & transfer all our stuff & then I cleaned the old van, Jayco told me not to worry, they had cleaners, but I could not leave it dirty & I did not want them thinking I was a “Dirty Bitch” Ha! Ha! The new van looked like a bomb had hit it & you could not walk on the floor. So off we went back to the park & set up the new annex & pulled everything out & started to line shelves & pack things away. I managed to get a dental appointment for tomorrow. By 10pm we had had it, I could hardly walk & my
back & Den’s back were killing us.
10-12-09 Up & at it packing & rearranging things & by then went to the dentist, $1800.00 later & a temporary crown (not happy Jan) will finish it off on the 11th January . By 5pm the van looked tidy & you could see the kitchen bench & the bed. Neighbours across the road came over to look at our new van & we had our first happy hour in it, It was good to sit down. Just a few things to put away now & Den has a few a fair bit on the outside to do, hopefully in a week we might be organized.
11-12 to 13-12-09 The last 3 days have been go, go, go. We are getting there The insides nearly organised, & Den has made inroads on the outside. Sun the 13th, was 39 deg, so we took the girls to the Dog Beach for a swim. Well you could not move, there were hundreds of dogs, all running up & down the beach & puppy’s doing what they wanted to. There were big dogs running over small dogs I wish I had taken the camera, I could not stop laughing. Annie & Jessie just sat in the water for a while & Jessie would bark if another dog got close. In the end they sat on the beach towel with me & just looked , I am sure they think they are human, not dogs. It did the job & it cooled them down & us too. In the car park at the Dog Beach some enterprising young people had set up 4 dog wash baths & they never stopped & @ $18 a bath I reckon they did well for the day. We headed back to the van & I put the air con on & had a rest. It is supposed to be 31 deg Mon 14th, a little cooler. Not many photos this time.
