Our apologies for not updating this any sooner but to be honest we have not really had anything exciting to write to you all.........working in a supermarket is obviously very exciting though ha ha ha! Also we don't seem to have time to do anything but work eat and sleep at the moment, it's a public holiday today so we have had time to relax and I can get around to writing!
So what have we been upto....hmmmmmm
We have been making the most of going to see bands and artists that are playing here at small venues for not a very big cost! First of all was Kelly Clarkson then we got tickets to see Kelly Jones of the stereophonics! They were playing in a nightclub in Freo which we were told holds about 1000 people so we were quite excited but then we got there and.........well..........We were probably about the 4th people in and when we got in there the stage was set up right there in front of us and the place was not as big as we were told! We got seats to the side of the stage about 3m away from them.......we couldn't believe
it there is no way we would get to see them like this at home! They came on and Kelly Jones as Ste pointed out is 'cool as f*!k'!!!!!!! He was a dude..........holding a glass of red wine in his tight leather jacket complete with shades! The music was amazing, up to now it is beating the killers in Barca!!!! Mr Jones (not Phil though) offered to buy us a pint after the gig but as it was a school night we had to recline his generous offer............
When we first arrived here Ste went on a mad trek on a day that I was working to go and buy tickets to see James Blunt, we weren't sure if we would be here to see him but as it happens we are still here in Perth 4 months later! He was playing at the same place we went to see Kelly Clarkson, for those of you that have forgotten its a basketball stadium that is not very big! Neither of us had seen him before..........We had pretty good seats near to the front so we could see Mr Blunt very well!!!! He was such a geek bless him and
the worst dancer we had ever seen ha ha ha........but he was fab live! His voice was amazing and it was great to see him just enjoying himself on the stage in awe of being famous! At one point he hopped onto his piano and decided to do a little jig, we were sure he was going to fall off the piano was wobbling everywhere!!!!
All concerts over and we decided to get back to nature.............
A great love of mine for those people that know me, is horse riding! Ste had never ridden before and really wanted to try it! We have made friends with a girl from work called Lynda who is from Sydney and here doing a Uni course here, I had mentioned to her about it and she agreed we should go...........
They only live around the corner so we went there for a pancake breakie last Sunday then it was off in there van to a place called Waneroo which is about a 40min drive from here. It was $50 for a 2hr trek which is really good. We had decided that as myself and Lynda had ridden before then Ste had
WW2 Tunnels
"Aim A little to the left Becky" not and her boyfriend Sean had we would go on our own trek and look after Ste. We arrived in the rain to a horse ranch where we were given horses and told a few directions then we were off........Ste was an absolute natural he sat on that horse like John Wayne! ha ha ha No seriously he did. We trekked through the bush for 2hrs it was so quiet and peaceful out there it was lovely! Even though my bum did ache the next day.........Ste reckons his didn't I think he was lying! Stinking of Neddy we called in at red Rooster which is a fast food place here.....a rare treat or us! Then we went to Hillary's which is further along the coast where we had a few drinks on the harbour.......all in all a great day was had by all (except for my bum).
Since the horse riding expedition we have just been working again all week! We had a wicked storm on Friday which caused a lot of damage in the Perth area, I was in the house on my own with Ralf and he hates the thunder.......the house was vibrating with the thunder the
Clock Tower Of Perth
Clock was donated by some English Joe, and they charge $20 to see it, to which we didn't pay... poor bugger didn't know what to do! The weather seems to have cleared now it is now officially winter as of yesterday.......a pleasant 20 degrees clear blue skies, oh the torture of an Australian winter hey!
Oh almost forgot we went off visiting war tunnels which were built by our house, there is a cannon up there still that was there to protect form the Japanese.........This coastline was an important area due to the large port it has here which there are huge cargo ships constantly coming in and out of.......the other day there was an American Navy ship in which looked like a bit of an aircraft carrier sat there in full view with choppers and little fighter jets galore on top of it!
Hope you are all well and good, we are off to the markets now to do the pilgrimage to the fruit and veg stalls......they have started reducing everything to $1 i cannot contain myself I think I can't leave that there for that price, then come home and we have no room in the fridge! I have found myself cooking quite a bit a new hobby maybe as Ste as my apprentice still........He
makes a mean Cambodian curry which I am sure he will make for you all when we return.
Speaking of when we return for those of you that are asking that question 'When are we coming home?' we don't know the answer yet......there are so many places to visit! We intend on making full use of our Australian visa as we are lucky to have got one and be here!
Best dash veggies to buy then back to work tom for me to have daily discussions with customers about which tin of beans would be best and for Ste well he will be back fondling his fruit!!!!!!!
Bye for now xxxxxx
