Hi, we are Mike and Trish and about to start the next phase of our lives. Over thirty years ago we travelled from London to Kathmandu which instilled in us a love of travel. We live in Australia and since our initial adventure have done the "family thing". During this period we have maintained our travel bug by regular trips OS but mostly by 4WDing and camping trips throughout this great country. wow! what a history lesson, mike. fab reading. your 450 ks round trip was interesting. Not to keen on the temp around the salt lake. Have followed you trip on our atlas.(450ks trip) we were taken on a bus trip from the indian pacific thru kalgoorlie. Have similar photo of me in the 'mouth' of the digger.(above the super pit!) that at nite was awesome looking down on what looked like 'fairy land' with the lights and what looked like match box vehicles working!

Well done Trish and Mike very well written blog. I had a look at Kalgoorlie on google earth, not too many green fields. Ta for Xmas card. Still mild here in UK, well todays high was +12C !!!! Have fun Brian
