Had a wonderful ride southwest from Kununurra today. Reminded me of our bicycle rides through Colorado 40 years ago, only better, because there is virtually no development between each roadhouse oasis (one every hundred kilometres) except the occasional herd of Brahma cattle. We rode 4 hours (360 kms) through beautiful red sandstone outcrops, ridges and rolling hills on a two lane road with little traffic. What made it particularly special were the hundreds of giant boab trees and thousands of termite mounds scattered through the grassy, lightly treed landscape.
