Kununurra

We left Darwin and arrived at Litchfield National park. The toilets smelt because there was a bin in there. It was really dusty and hot, which means you sweat and the dust sticks to you like glue. We went down to Florence falls. It was really cool. The further you got to the falls the deeper it gets. At one stage you couldn’t see the bottom. Ash saw a snake and got out, but was only a water python. We also visited the magnetic termite mounds which are really funny looking, as well as the Cascades and Wangi Falls. The next day we arrived at Edith falls (Leilyn) campground. We walked into the falls. They were so strong we couldn’t swim up to them. Ash and I played in the currents. We did a different walk back to the campsite. The next day we drove through Katherine, and visited Arnold, the didgeridoo maker. He gave Ash a didgeridoo because he played so good.
We drove through Gregory national park and got to Keep River national park as the sun was setting. Ash and I climbed up a big rock mountain. It was dusty and hot. On our way driving to Kununurra We stopped at Lake Argyle which my poppy helped to survey over 40 years ago. It was Massive. You couldn’t see the end of it. We saw a fresh water croc in the water that was coming out of the dam.. In Kununurra we stopped at the Zebra rock café and saw all the zebra rocks. We had lunch there and spoke to the cocky’s. One was meant to speak English, French ,German and Aussie slang but only said hello. We then headed off to the Gibb River road.
