Got the very last camp site in Broome; literally set up our tent on the caretakers back lawn, glad we’re not driving a car (much less pulling a camper) as all 5 campgrounds around town were full by 2:30 when we arrived. Broome seems to be where everyone heads to escape Southern Australia’s winter. It’s the next Miami. Tides never got low enough to let us find the fossilized dinosaur foot prints off the southern point, and we never got ourselves organized enough to ride the camels on Cable Beach (though they walked by our tents every day), but we did have fish and chips overlooking the beach during a cloudless firey sunset.
