Tues 11th Dec:
A badly planned day trip after last night but luckily it wasn't leaving until midday. Off to Philip Island to see the small penguins. As the parade doesn't start until after dark we had several stops en route. A nature reserve, some wine tasting (not appreciated today!) some stunning coastline, some great pizza and finally the parade. Unfortunately you can't take photos of the penguins, it damages their eyes and also scares them. It was a real shame as they were soooo cute and entertaining.
The distance of the trip was much further than we'd anticipated so we didn't get back until gone midnight. Quite a unique experience but ready for my bed!
Weds 12th Dec:
Another chillout day so went to the beach. Quite hot but very windy. Still haven't seen rest of Melbourne yet so we're going to hire a bike tomorrow and cover it all.
