So the Aussies love their footy. And their brekky and their barbie. Basically you can tell how much they like something by the existence of a Y on the end of the word. Well I got another Y-word for it - silly. Footy is a silly game, played by silly people, officiated by VERY silly referees, for silly fans, in a silly country. In my opinion, it's closest cousin is actually ultimate frisbee (slight difference - footy players actually wear shoes and have bathed within a month), mixed with rugby. A final score of 132 - 100 does add excitement though. While it's certainly not a game for a wimps, it's not exactly the carnage we all have heard about. However, last night's on-field fight before the game even started was a nice touch.
