Melbourne CBD
Simon with a great view of the CBD Hi All,
We arrived in Melbourne a few days ago to be greeted with lots of art sculptures. It is certainly a cultural city, its a lot different from what we have seen already. Bizarre that we are in the same country....
City exploring was great, we spent the afternoon at the Melbourne Museum, this I am sure was mostly for kids, Simon and I felt right at home, and amused ourselves for hours.
We booked our Neighbours night with a lady who looked familar, we couldn't quite put our finger on it until she said "face...bothered" Ah, Catherine Tate herself. We were quite scared by her as you can imagine...
The Neighbours Trivia night was fantastic. Lots of screaming fans ready to meet Harold Bishop (Jelly Belly), Toady, and Pepper (Don't know if you guys in the UK have met her yet, but she is a very attractive lady, who interfers with many happy relationships.) We got photos with all the stars, they are such different people from their characters. It was a great evening of drinking and chatting to crazy people. It was rounded off with Doctor Karl Kennedy's Band. They were surprisingly good considereing. Doctor Karl
Crazy sculptures
Simon and the green liqurice. even reached out and touched my hand... I think it was love! Much to our surprise Catherine Tate also worked at the Neighbours night! She was following us, so I told her I needed a picture as she was part of our Neighbours experience. Take a look at the photos and let me know what you think...
We did a tour to the Great Ocean Road, a fantastic tour of an amazing coastline. We stopped at Bells Beach, one of the most popular beaches for surfing. Shame we couldn't show them all our skills. Maybe next time. One of the big highlights was the 12 Apostles, rock formations. Another stop was London Bridge, so much more exciting than our bridge. Big advantage that it is surrounded by water.
We headed off to Tasmania for a long weekend, to catch up with my friend Lou. Lou and family put us up in their lovely house looking over Tasmania. It was pretty chilly but it was lovely to see another State of Australia. We arrived to find my Birthday presesnt from Mum and Dad, yes the PINK I-pod I have been waiting for! With all my songs already loaded! Brill!
We spent the first day checking out Hobart, we went up Mount Wellington for a birds-eye view. Also to see where Lou had organised us to go sailing the next day. We had an interesting night trying to get into Lou's Uni. (They thought I was two young as I had no ID.)
The next day we met our boat- Farr 37 "Quality Equipment", we cruised down to a little town called Kettering where the race was due to start. Their was a light breeze and bright sunshine for the start of the race. The race was 15 kms, which took us past some lovely remote sceanery! the finish was at Cygnet, a wicked small inlet with a small sailing club. They put on a good party and BBQ true Aussie style, after much Alcohol we went to our cosy!! accomodation. Sunday was spent sailing a short race and a few more beers!!
After a brilliant weekend, it was time to move back to Sydney for a few days. The best of which was our ferry trip to Manly. It was a perfect day- sun, beach and chilling out. On the way back we watched the start
Simon and the IOU sculpture
The city has gone a bit mad on the Art front. of the twighlight series and then made our way to our sunset viewing point for wicked views of the Opera House and the fantastic bridge. (Even watched the America's Cup boat sail under the bridge! CLOSE!)
We are off to New Zealand in the morning, to continue the adventures.
Lots of Love
Catherine and Simon

Hey guys, Looks like you are having a ball. Love the photos of the Neighbours stars even although we haven't watched it in around 10 years so only know the old faithful characters! LOL! Look forward to reading your updates, where do you find the time to fit them in? Take care both of you!
