The Campervan
'Blossom" our home for the next few months Finally ready for off, campervan all checked and packed up.First were heading up 'The great Ocean Road'Torquay was our first destination its the Famous for Bells Beach were all the surfing is, there are lots of shops full of surf clothing and boards we should get one really to have on the top of the camper!we had coffee then decided to move on up the coast to Lorne, this was a lovely place so we decided to camp here, although we never found a campsite so we just parked up and Neil started cooking, well the meal was fine but I didnt sleep much not used to this camping thing!in the morning we drove on to the sea front and had breakfast it was really lovely to see the beach on the sun, there was a sculpture trail along the beach so we follwed it and came to a pier with fresh fish for sale, we bought some shark and salmon for tea. Next stop Apollo Bay, Neil was loking forward to this, we found a campsite on the river which was also near the beach, we decided on two nights here,Neil went fishing while I walked along the beach, the
Leaving the farm
all packed up, ready for off weather is nice, not to hot yet as its only spring,well Neil hasnt caught anything so we will have the fish we bought earlier today, Neils cooks all the time I wash-up and drink wine of course!Next morning after a lovely english breakfast we are heading off to see the "Twelve Apostles"( large rocks in the sea) the rain has started heavy just like home, got to the Twelve apostles did not even attempt to get out of the camper its bouncing down!just when we thought we had left all this at home,Neil said lets just carry on driving while its bad, well it rained for the next 3 and a half days,quick camp stop overs at Murray Bridge where the powerboats race on the river with skiers doing 120 kilometres per hour, that fast! no time to sit in the rain so we carried on to Adelaide didnt stop as its too heavy the rain so we will catch all that we miss on the way home in 5 weeks,next Port Augusta its stopped raining for an hour so Neils off Fishing again, well hes got two! but while He was on his way home back to the camper

these are all carved out of wood, at least they wont need ironing! all excited to show me, there was a hole in the bag and he lost one, He was Gutted!next stop Ceduna nice campsite on the beach the beach was covered in small shells , we met some nice people all doing the same as us but going in different directions, we shared stories and picked up some good info,the weather is lovely now, at last!,getting used to this camping thing we love it.Now the nightmare journey starts form here with the Journey across the Nullabor which is the long strecth of nothing which links South Australia to West, We were told always take lots of supplies and fill up with petrol at all the stops, well Neil forgot to check the gage and we set off on low, just like home running on fresh air!we got really worried no sign of anything for miles amd we were on the red, Neil managed to catch up to a Car and caravan and got so close behind them he said if we get in their slip stream the wind will carry up a bit further! well I had my eyes closed, where was my Mum the fifth emergency serive when we need
her! well someone was looking over us as we sallied into the petrol station on nothing, thankyou. We went to Fowlers bay next for the overnight stop on this hell drive, there was nothing there really, apart from the biggest sandunes we have ever seen, we spotted a little boy with his Dad on the top so we climbed up, that was a challenge tryiny to get to the top of these sandunes. we made it, and the bot asked if Neil wanted to slide down on a special board he had for the sand surfing, he did it! he loved it,Off again down a 17 kilometer rocky road with no-one in sight for miles, next stop was Madura just a garage and a motel but the Melboune Cup was on so we stayed here for an hour, there were six people who worked in this place all sat with hats on as though they were at the races, they we pleased to see us, they sat down to a large fish and chip meal bought us a large dish of king prawns and calamri all free, everyone gets excited about the race over here,We were shouting at the screen

best way to get a shower for our horse Purple Moon to win but just when we thought it had it came second! Neil then balmed the Aussie jockey and upset the locals so we made a sharp exit! After this we drove to the next stop only about 4 hours away! then the camper started playing up,so stayed at this Bp garage thay had a bar so we had a couple of dinks the local truckies we in , the music in the bar was old Engleburt humperdink they love it and play the same thing everynight. we went cafefully for the next five hours until we finally got off the Nullabor, thank goodness, we went to a garage for help and thought we were sorted, until we broke down 3ok out of town with no phone signal, well we got help and the garage fixed us up for the next couple of hours until, it broke down again!well this time we were in Salmon Guim, noboby about on the campsite so we got a shower and went to bed then the comotion started! 3 aboriginal people came about 1.30 in the morning and started a fight with each other it was very frightening, we
got dressed quietly and quickly we did not dare open the door no lights anyway and in the middle of nowhere, we slowly opened the door grabbed out things and Neil tried to start the engine, we were praying it would start, eventually it did, we set off on two wheels, lets get the hell out of here, well we made it to Esperance at 4.15 am onto a campsite great, we went to sleep for a coule of hours.
