The last few days have been exciting. Mum and I popped out to the farm on Friday to check on the soon to be (and very overdue) Tahani. We both confidently walked down the paddock without our phones (or keys to the house or shed) to find Tahani in the process of giving birth but with difficulty. With no access to the “birthing basket”, there was no choice but to help out Tahani with what we had (ie bare hands). John, Gwen and Kelly were soon on the scene to help out and with some gentle persuasion and a lot of painful noises (Tahani made most of them) baby Winston was born. A huge 9.5kg and by feed up time he’d already had a dust bath and his lovely white fleece was looking grotty. That’s boys for you…😊
Today I’ve been at the farm translating the information from the folder and whiteboard to a very exciting excel spreadsheet so we can update it and put up stuff onto the website. Hanni the dog has ensured never a dull moment by licking off her dressings requiring a redress and more “No Chew” spray. So much for “no chew”. We need some “no lick” spray. She’d made a mess with dressings and drool everywhere, so promptly moved to Leo’s bed which was tidier. That’s girls for you…😊
Off to the vineyard tonight to hopefully upload some photos at last. I’ve bought a card reader that’s supposed to read all sorts of memory cards. It might be helpful for uploading photos quickly without using up too much of my camera’s life. Despite taking loads of photos, the battery on my camera is lasting well. I’ve not charged it since Sydney (which is kind of lucky it’s lasting so long as I’ve misplaced the charger, oops…)
