Today was Alvaro’s first day out on the water. He was like a little kid! Jumping screaming, yelling and pointing. I guess where he did his PhD the dolphins were very few and far between, so for him this was a real treat. We saw plenty of dolphins throughout the day and the highlight was that Daniele got two samples!
We are trying to get at least 12 samples I think it is. He already has a few before the season started, and with the two we got today it knocks it down to us needing 6 or 7 more. The first sample was only a tiny piece of skin, but the second was a nice big chunk - just what we needed!

Alvaro was supposed to start his acoustic work and check out his equipment today, but we decided to just have him check out the dolphins first, and tomorrow he can start. Hopefully the dolphins are as friendly then!
