Sailing on the Boat
A Cove we Snorkeled at and the Sunset
Whitehaven Beach This past weekend MC and I and a group of friends went up to Whitsundays and went sailing through the Whitsunday Islands. The Whitsunday Islands are in Queensland and are just north of Brisbane. They are made up of 74 different islands, each one is gorgeous. Anyways, back to the trip. When we got to Whitsundays we stayed in a beach town called Airlie Beach. It was a very cool town with only one main strip and other than people sailing, it was all locals. The next morning, after our night in Airlie, we walked through an outdoor market that the town put on once a week and then made our way to our sail boat. Our boat held 26 people and our group took up 8 of those spots. One of the first things that we found out while on the boat was that we were going top be fed very well. We got on the boat and were served two massive trays of nachos, then for dinner we had steaks, our next two meals would be pasta, and then chicken satay, all were delicious and definitley unexpected. While on the boat we stopped several times to go snorkeling

The snorkeling was pretty good on the Reef, we didn't see too many cool fish, but the coral was unlike anything I have ever seen before. Although the snorkeling was somewhat disappointing, Whitehaven beach made up for it and then some. Whitehaven is ranked as the number one beach in the world. It was hands down, 100%, the best beach that I have ever seen. The sand on the beach is pure white and the softest sand that I have ever felt. The sand on the beach squeaks when you walk on it because 98% of the sand is made of silicone. In addition to this, the water runs up over the beach, so there are certain parts of the beach that are covered in about a foot of water which allows you to walk hundreds of yards out into the ocean. It was an experience that I will never forget and one that will never be matched. After Whitehaven we got back on the boat and went to another snorkeling spot. After this snorkeling the only thing left on our agenda was to sail back into

Once we got into port we saw a sign advertising a shark expo that was in Airlie. Whil the majority of our group went to get food, me and a buddy decided to go to the shark expo. It was awesome, there were so many cool and interesting things to check out. The whole exhibit is based on a man named Vic Hislop, a man who goes out and haunts sharks, his specialty being tiger sharks and great whites, not your average job. There definitly was no shortage of amazing things to observe in the exhibit, but the grand finale was unbelievable. This guy, Vic Hislop, had captured and killed an 18 and a half foot great white shark, had it frozen, and on display in the exhibit. It was so hard to believe that I was looking into the eyes of one of the deadliest creatures of the sea, it was chilling. After the shark expo we met back up with everybody and headed to the airport, and that was the end of our
