In Cairns. Best thing there, especially as you cant swim in the sea - its full of Crocs!
Well, we've finally made it to Australia...

and its good to be somewhere where everyone speaks English and there are familiar things around after 3 months away!

We arrived in Cairns last week, and after a few days looking around and deciding where on earth to start with such a huge country, we headed north to Port Douglas - a small town on the coast which is fairly sleepy at the moment as its low tourist season. Its also supposed to be wet season too, but we've luckily only had a couple of really rainy days.

We've spent two days out on the Great Barrier Reef, snorkelling and Scuba Diving and have seen some amazing fish and colourful corals, as well as Giant Turtles, loads of Reef Sharks, huge Tuna and little Clown Anenome Fish (or Nemo's!) We got a great photo of steve holding a Reef Shark, but its too huge to put on the blog at the moment. We'll put it on when we've resized it.
We did 3 dives in different places on the reef and the visibility was really good despite it being the rainy season. Unfortunatley it is also the Jellyfish season

Its pretty and quite old round here.
- which means that if you want to swim or dive in the sea, you have to wear incredibly sexy lycra all in one teletubby suits. Yum. But better than getting stung by Jellies I suppose. At least at the beach theres a netted enclosure where you can swim, which keeps all the stingers out!

This part of Aus seems to be like America and everywhere insists on serving you huge portions of food you cant possibly eat! The ice creams are also massive and come in every flavour possible - as you can imagine Rozi is in heaven!!! Have to go to the beach and swim to work it off!!!

Hope youre all good - keep in touch,

love
Rozi and Steve
