Today I went on a free trip to the Daintree area with Down Under Tours. Got picked up and driven to Mossman Gorge where we went on a 90 minute walk/talk with the Kuku Yalanji aboriginal people. We learned quite a lot about their history and stories, and saw how they collected food and made paint out of natural plants. It was very interesting. We then moved on to a fabulous place called Silky Oaks Lodge, where you can stay or just go to eat. It's lot of beautiful buildings set in lush rainforest on the banks of the Mossman River, and all buildings are pole houses set high in the treetops. It's really lovely with fantastic food. After lunch here, we went on a croc spotting cruise on the Daintree River before heading home via an exotic fruit tasting place. I tried fruit I've never even heard of, and surprisingly most of them were really nice. I had another lovely day for free - its not too bad being me right now...
