Up to Surfer's

Two-year-old Tamar was a good little girl when asked to pose for the photo.
Our hostel in Surfer's Paradise is lush. We're staying in a four person dorm with an ensuite. The hotel also has a free spa, sauna, and pool. We're right near the shops, beach, bars and clubs. It's great! On our first night there was a Japanese man and an Aussie man (Jim) in our room. Jim was really nice and went to the bottle shop and bought us some drinks. He left the next day and so did the other guy and so we have now had the room to ourselves for two days! Yesterday we went to Currumbin wildlife sanctuary. It was so good! We got to cuddle koalas! The kangaroos are in a big enclosure and you just buy food and feed them etc like pet's corners in England but with kangaroos and wallabies instead of goats and sheep. When I was feeding one of the big kangaroos it decided to jump at me for some reason. I had quite a few scratches from it. I can't believe they let children in there with them!! We also got to see the world's most dangerous bird (apparantly), a cassowary, which is like an emu, dingoes, loads of reptiles, birds, and

Quite weird seeing such a built-up area right next to a beach.
a Tasmanian devil!

We went on a really good night out last night-an organised bar crawl. We met up with Brad and Holly, a couple that we met in Byron Bay. Olly was on form again-up on the podium shakin his booty!! Holly and me found some flashing plastic beer glasses in one of the bars and later on a group of lads saw them and asked to buy them. We sold them for $20 each!! So it was a really cheap night!

We went to the beach today. It's huge. Although it's quite busy you can easily get a spot on your own because of the size of it. It's weird laying on the beach and seeing the sea on one side and skyscrapers on the other!

At the moment it is snowing in some parts of Australia. It's pretty chilly compared to Thailand but we're heading to the Sunshine Coast tomorrow which should be quite a bit warmer!
