Very steep track up to the Lookout.
Hi everyone from Emerald
We have just spent 4 nights at Carnarvon Gorge, where we were out of range of TV, phone and internet. We drove in on 26km of dirt track, the first our van has been on, with a few fords. The views were great, and we did all the walking tracks, including one day to the end of the main track and all the points of interest off it on the way back, which ended up being 23.6km, a long way for us! At least that track was flat, following the stream, with over 50 river crossings. We also climbed to the Boolimba Bluff lookout, up a very steep track, another day. We stayed at the Takarakka Bush Resort, which was great.
Before that we had 2 nights at the big 4 camp at Cania Gorge, which had lovely tame birds. We often had several on our awning struts. We again did the walking tracks there. That camp fed the birds at 5pm each day, and they all arrived, and ate seed out of our hands.
After Gold Coast we visited our friends Kennedys, Costars and Stanleys, the ones who helped get us started. We were very pleased

We crossed the stream over 50 times.
to get out of traffic and cities and back to the country areas, after striking a long weekend getting out of Brisbane.
Had trouble with this last night, will retry today. Posted a map and photos, but doubt they will go through. Will try again.
Cheers Lynne and Chris

Fabulous life!
We thought you might be out in the wilderness and you surely are. You will be getting so fit with all that walking! Sounds awesome with all the birds and wildlife, they look wonderful. How did the van cope with the dirt roads? Hope all is good. XX

Hi
Glad you (and Cushla) liked the bird photos. We have heaps of lovely photos, its hard to choose the ones to use for the blog. Hope Molly is keeping you trim and occupied! Are you taking her to puppy playschool - Tracey took China, and we went along once to observe. It was a lot of fun and laughs. Cheers Lynne and Chris
