Cyclone heading our way
Mum is a bit worried today as in the newspapers there is a cyclone warning that one of the biggest cyclones ever is heading right towards us. It should be here in 3 days. She has said that we are not to worry as the cyclone will most likely change its path and not hit us at all in Cairns. We were just to monitor the weather reports.

Australia gets lots of cyclones and difficult weather conditions. Recently there was an area the size of France and Germany flooded on the east coast where lots of people died and thousands of people lost their homes because of the floods. Some of the flood waters reached 6 meters high. That is about the height of 3 Mr Cains

Hurricane Larry happened in the area a few years ago and this flattened many homes and destroyed many areas. The hurricane produces very fierce winds and heavy rain. I am a bit scared but mum says not to worry. If we need to be we will be evacuated to a safe place, probably underground to wait for the storm to pass. I will keep you updated.
