So, Ellie and I are in Cairns and are currently staying at a little hostel called Tropic Days.

It's a pretty laid-back type of place and has a swimming pool and garden full of palm trees and hammocks (I haven't fallen out of one yet). We are booked in here for 3 nights but will probably extend for a couple of nights as it is great value for money (we get free meals in the evening) and we are also looking at booking up our first few trips on the East Coast.

We will definitely be booking up to go Whitsunday sailing (it looks amazing) and also 4 wheeled driving on Fraser Island. Both trips are considered 'musts' when travelling on the East Coast so we are also looking to do some horseriding at somepoint as this is something a little different and probably not what most hardcore backpackers would choose to do!

For the most of today we explored Cairns and laid on the sun by a giant open air public swimming pool located next to Cairns beach. Hopefully, we will get to book up a snorkelling trip of some kind on the G.B.Reef in the coming days.

Anyway, best be off to start getting ready before we catch a bus into the City to grab a bite to eat at a bar called the Woolshed (it's where we get our free meals provided for us).

Will update again soon, Matt and Ellie.
