Edit Blog Post

Hellooooo, well the last blog i wrote got lost in some system crash so i'll write a new one with .....pictures!!yes i know they are a rare treat in the busy life that is mine, but i have some time to burn today so I will indulge you in a few pictures incase you wonder what i look like these days. You'll be glad to know I look no different really, maybe a few extra pounds after my dive boat trip but a traveller cannot refuse any food sent their way, so i had to eat everything in sight!!

My adventure on the dive boat was absolutely brilliant but very exhausting at the same time. 6 am starts every day and work was never finished before 9pm. The only breaks were for scuba diving and eating, and as anyone who has done diving before knows, the diving in itself is tiring so you can imagine I was a little tired by the end of the week! I decided not to go back for the second week as the new chef was crap and my week would have been hell and I don't think i would have even had the energy

freezing but a great experience
for the diving so I called it quits.

Some of the highlights of my week were: diving the Osprey Reef and seeing 2 massive manta rays flying along. They must have been at least 7m in diameter, they were huge but so graceful! I watched them for so long. The dive site is really cool because it's a massive drop off which goes to about 400m or something. I went down to 35metres which is pretty deep for me. We also saw a shark feed underwater. They made us all swim to an underwater ledge take a seat and watch as they did the feed, there must have been about 50 sharks circling around, fighting for the food, really cool, i'm just glad i wasn't served up for dinner. I found a sharks tooth after the feed so was happy with myself. My favourite sea creatures are the sea turtles though, they are cool dudes. The other dive sites had lovely coral and really colourful fish, loads of nemo's and dory's!

The plan now is to fly to Perth on Monday to meet Vic and Suzy. It's a long story but here goes... because i was diving on

nice sunbathing place
the boat, Craig was at a loose end in Cairns. As it happens Vic and Suzy were doing a campervan relocation from Cairns to Alice Springs, so Craig having no job organised and nothing to do got roped into the road trip! 5 days to get there so just as well there were 3 of them to share the driving! At the minute they are in Alice Springs, doing the Uluru trip. I couldn't get a flight there in time for the trip so i'm meeting the girls Monday whilst Craig gets a job in Alice for a couple weeks.

Yesterday I did a day trip to Cape Tribulation. We took a croc cruise on the daintree river and saw some crocs and a couple of snakes. Took rainforest walk and saw a massive endangered bird that looks kind of like an ostrich but they are violent apparently, he came pretty close but didn't attack anyone. Then we went to cape trib which is one of the only places in the world where the rainforest meets the beach (i read the brochure). it wasn't very sunny so no sunbathing but nice all the same. Met in with a nice

the sand is to fine it squeaks when u walk on it, it really is like talcum powder
group of irish on the trip. We went to mossman gorge on the way back which is a bit like the lin 'o dee or cambus o may, as well as stopping in at port douglas. All very nice!

Well that's about it for now next time i write i'll probably be in search of a new liver after meeting up with Vic and Suzy, the biggest drinkers in the west!
