Brisbane Town Hall
The Brisbane Town Hall at night I couldn't see any reason to spend much time in Brisbane (sorry if anyone from Brisbane is reading this) and after spending a day there before catching the next overnight bus it was apparent that that was the right decision. There were a few sights to see so the day was by no means a waste and when I returned to the transit centre in the evening I was fit for nothing more than watching a bit of tele.
Queensland is a bit of a law unto itself within Australia and you don't have to watch television for very long to realise what a bunch of prats the politicians are. There was this particular grey-haired moron (although I would put money on the fact that it was a wig) who was continuously on the screen claiming what a fantastic job they were doing. I wouldn't have voted for him if he was the last politician on earth.
Australians from other states had often remarked upon the "Peoples' Republic of Queensland" and we got a good illustration of the problems it causes from Maureen's boyfriend when we met him back in Ballarat. He's a long-distance lorry driver and he told
