Man faces off with large Croc @ Australia Zoo Trip to see Amelia
The Zammuto adventures continues, as we decide to visit Brisbane to see Graham, Sarah and the new addition to the family, baby Amelia!
We got some bargains with our flights, buy one, get one free, unbelievably it was cheaper to buy 6 seats than 5, so we had a mystery guest join us, who didn't turn up to check in... cheek of it!! 😊
We arrived, late on the evening of the 30th July, leaving cold and grey Melbourne. We got to the airport and claimed our hire car, no problems. We took the sat nav with us, as we had booked a private rental in Sandgate, about 10 mins away from our Graham and Sarah's house, and we needed to get to the rental as quickly as possible, no fuss. Unbelivably, the Sat Nav decided to complain about moving states and didn't like the fact we'd taken a plane to Queensland and not driven the route so in protest, it refused to find the satellites and give us a route to get to the rental, agghhh....!! 😞
We set off following a main road in the hope the sat nav would give

Alex looking for his brothers, maybe a zookeeper found them and put them in a cage? us a break and find the satellite, but no.... so I pulled out the street directory for Brisbane, after 30mins or so, and turning the map upside down, over and around, we felt we were in the right district for the rental, then the Sat Nav decides to jump in, and low and behold we were pretty much there..... "you have reached your destination" she blurted out... bloody thing.
Our Graham called us, and tell us that he's working until Saturday morning, and can pop over and see us when he returns from Newcastle. We go to Dominos Pizza for dinner and get to bed. Next morning, we wake up and IT'S BLOODY FREEZING in the house. So cold, so we dash out of bed, put all the heaters on the gas burners and the oven to try and warm up the house. It's lovely and sunny outside and the weather man promises 23degrees, but you can't feel it. The house it a weatherboard (wooden) tradditional queensland house (on stilts) and you can see through the wooden floor boards to the grass/garden below. We get some breakfast, and decide that as we have a "free" day, we'll go to

Criky, it the kids at Australia Zoo Australia Zoo. It was only about 40mins drive away, and it was a really good day, plenty of crocs, snakes and other traditional Aussie wildlife. It was pretty expensive, but we had a good time and the kids enjoyed it.
Next day, our Graham arrives back from Newcastle and pops over to see us. We walk to town for a coffee/lunch and then let him go home, to sleep (he worked the night shift and flew back at 6am). We'd arranged to catch up with Lisa and Ray, our new found Zammuto (distant) cousins. We had a great time, we took the "Cat" Ferry into Brisbane and we had a great time looking around the city and having a walk down the riverside. Later that night we went back to see our Graham, Sarah and Amelia so we could all be introduced. It was really great to see our new family arrival and have a little cuddle. She was an angel, I can't imagine what our Graham is talking about
