What a beauty

Today was an awesome day we headed of to the Australia Zoo, the home to all of Steve Irwins animals. It was massive with many great shows throughout the day. Im so glad we got their early because at 10am we hand fed the elephants that had been rescued from a travelling circus many years ago. Then off to explore the rest of the zoo. I could not believe how massive some of the crocs were, most of them were in pairs as the male needed his woman, it was said the crocs are very territorial, some of them just looked like stuffed ones as they lay

Moving on to the crocoseum where all the live shows were on, they started with the birds, which was quite cool, as they were just flying from one side to another, while their keeper explained what they ate, amazing that they did not try to escape with the open roof. Then out came the snakes, I was not over excited about this part but again very interesting, they performed a role play of what to do if you see a snake while under the influence of booze, the answer was STAY AWAY which was exactly the answer I was looking for. Then out came the big daddy croc, this was fab, his keeper kept bashing his foot onto the ground as the croc can sense the movement, which meant he followed. They got the croc to leap out of the water and get his meat, which is how they would do this in the wild by leaning on their tail to push themselves out, this was unreal to watch.

There was a special section all for the memory of Steve, hundreds of signed t-shirts and pictures, paintings, scrolls & photos of his maddest moments & his best catches.
All in all what an awesome day
