Camp
Day 69
To the craters!! There were 5 we could see ranging in size form 150 meters wide and 15m deep to 7m wide amazing to see what a 44kg piece of rock will do at speed. We plod on after a short 2km walk though, kings canyon here we come. Well actually not quite, I guess first if you want to save 150km of your drive you have to deal with a teeth rattling road, with speeds only hitting 20km/h for a bit. Ouchies. But then we hit paved roads and back up to 110 and were moving well. We push straight to the camp site to ensure a good spot, not that we are that picky but dammit I want to sleep on grass. So we slept on grass to the tune of 51 dollars for 3 people… (these places rape for unpowered sites) We set out at 2pm for the kings canyon walk, Jackie is all bandaged up with her knees and I have the camel pack on. 7km of hiking with a 270 meter climb. The sign says 4 hours we did it in 2.5 with 3 sidetracks. Woot woot. The views were stunning and the

garden of eden was amazing. Views you don’t see form the 80 dollar chopper tour. But to each his own I guess. We had a blast and no one got hurt or sunburned for that matter. And after all that time in the sun, you know what is needed? A pool!!! But we didn’t swim, Jackie didn’t even get wet. She went straight for a shower Sean jumped in and I finally jumped into this coldass pool after being taunted by some little kids who threatened to push me in. lol.
