Today was a night of sophistication amongst all the Christmas parties. Initially we went to meet a couple of Will’s colleagues at Bungalow 8 on Darling Harbour for a quick drink before heading over to a Cheese & Port evening which was being hosted by Lucy, a friend of Will’s from Uni.

Upon arrival Will got a little distracted as her apartment is next door to a Ferrari and Lamborghini garage, but Jo managed to drag him away from drooling at the cars!

Lucy had laid on more cheese than I think we have ever seen (apart from the cheese counter at the supermarket!) and a whole host of other nibbles from antipasti to sausage rolls. It seemed to be largely a meeting of expats and we even met a fellow Welshman so Jo felt at home. We also met Lucy’s parents who have recently arrived from the UK where they have sold the family home to tour Australia and New Zealand by campervan before deciding where they want to live more permanently.

It was a warm evening so we enjoyed a short walk home through Hyde Park at around mid-night.
