It's really hard to say exactly why I do some of the things I do. I think I get restless without something to look forward to and suddenly I'm jaunting off to parts unknown. Such is the case with this spontaneous trip to Sydney. With a string of days off and nothing to do, (at least nothing that I wanted to do), I found myself searching flights to see where I could go. Whenever I see a long set of stairs I have an overwhelming desire to climb them.

Located at Bennelong Point, the floating Man O'War Steps, once used to transport stores and personnel to and from a ship called Man O'War, are now used primarily for water taxis. The Man O'War steps served as a landing and embarkation point for nearly 150 years for the British and Australian Fleets.

Named after the American Great White Fleet that steamed around the world from December 1907 to February 1909. There are 107 of these steps. I ran up them twice.
