So one of the highlights of the trip so far was definately our stop in Brisbane as we were able to see Kim our friend from Uni again! Was so niice being able to catch up with her! Made our way to Brisbane from Noosa, for once it didnt take long and everything ran on time so it didnt feel as though our entire day had been wasted moving about. The area of Brisbane Kim lives in is such a nice place and had such a good vibe to it, there were actually proper shops again and bars all within walking distance which made such a change for us!
It felt so bizzare being back in a city...within 24hrs hours we caved in and started wearing make-up again and actually straightened our hair!! it was bliss! and we started looking like our oldselves...as Kim had kindly told us we definately had that travellers look 😊
Our first day in Brisbane we went and had a look around the shops and had a general catch up with Kim, decided we were going to head out that night for a proper night out involving a club and dancing so we were
on a mission to buy ourselves some new shoes for the occasion. Was such a good night, as usual we all drank far too much and so the next day was dedicated to lying on the sofa, watching tele and generally feeling very sorry for ourselves.
The sun finally came out on our 3rd day so we were able to go this lookout point where we could see the whole of Brisbane, didnt realise how huge it was, was definately cool to see. Spent the rest of the day visiting the different districts - Southbank and Westend etc and had abit of an explore. The day before we left Brisbane we sat and chilled by the pool and in the evening had a bbq and some drinks and we were able to try Kangaroo for the first tiime - wasnt what we were expecting, its best not to overcook it as it can go a little tough so had to have it a little bloody but it tasted really good! Definately reccomend trying Kangaroo!
Next stop Sydeny...so the journey here was pretty harmless, was only an hour flight but as soon as we landed the heavens opened...the rain
was definately following us! We were able to stay at my uncles house in Sydeny so that was a bonus but got pretty wet trying to find it! My uncle was away for alot of our stay there so we had the place to ourselves. For the first couple of days took totall advantage of this...we may of been in Sydney but all we wanted to do was watch some movies, make a home made meal and have a relaxing soak in the bath...was bliss!
A couple of days later when we had got this out of our system the sun finally came out! So we decided it was probably best to do abit of exploring while we're here..it is Sydney after all! Had an early start and caught a ferry over to Circular Quay - where the Harbour Bridge and Oprea House is. Was pretty awesome, the ferry came out from underneath the harbour bridge and out in front of us stood the Oprea house - a very cool sight. Have to say the Oprea House was abit smaller then we had expected! Still a pretty spectacular sight to see! We got off the ferry here and went
and took a walk around the outside of the Oprea house and then took a walk through the Botanical gardens which was pretty lush. After this we had no idea what else we should go and see so took a quick visit to the Information place and a guy there told us that we should catch the ferry over to Watsons Harbour as it is the prettiest place in Sydney - Perfect. Caught the ferry over which took about half an hour but we were pretty dissapointed when we arrived. Dont get us wrong it was very pretty just not alot to do! so had a quick cider and made our way back again. Its really easy to move around Sydney so we caught the train to Town Hall to look around the shops...turned out to be a really enjoyable day so we felt we should reward ourselves for all our hard work that day - so we took a short walk to Darling Harbour where we had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe over looking the Harbour.
The next day the weather wasnt quite as niice but we were insistant on going to Manly Bay and spending the
day on the beach! By the time we got there it had taken us 2hrs so the sun had definately disappeared by this point but we were going to the beach no matter what. After 40 mins of lying on the beach, with sand being blown in our face we gave up and retreated to the pub for a cider (our answer to most problems!)
So that was the end of our tiime in Austarlia. We have enjoyed our tiime here although not exactly what we were expecting...still alot of fun though!!...Next stop Fiji!
Spk soon guys lots of love xxxxx
