A very strange Christmas

Arriving on Christmas eve to Sydney seemed very strange after nearly a month in Asia. Everything seems very Englishy (even the weather on the first day) and we have been taking full advantage of hot showers and washing that won't turn your clothes orange, staying with Rob (a friend of Becky's from uni) and his lovely house mates for the past few days.

On Christmas eve we stayed in with drinks and festive music and woke up early for presents the next day, before heading to Coogee beach for a day in the sun. Armed with lots of turkey, cranberry sauce and stuffing baguettes, mince pies and Christmas cheer we spent the day on Coogee beach. The beach was packed with tourists sunbathing with their santa hats on, a very weird experience. A few hours later, we all were feeling a little burnt and got the bus home for a mass skyping session. Everyone called home (and felt jealous about roast dinners), before a night of card games and chardes.
