thats a LOUD shirt Rob
larry- "you two look absolutely wrecked!"
Muzz- "i know,Rob's shirt is giving me a headache, and i can't even figure out how to switch this camera on"
Rob- "man, looks like someone's puked up on your shirt...I feel sick!"
minister on cliff- "I hope she turns up soon.!!" Well, we're back in Sydney, and we are here for the wedding. For those of you who don't know yet (or who have not guessed yet!!), our friends Zoe (the one with the baby), and Larry got married!! It was a really beautiful setting at Marks Park, on a cliff top (just incase Zoe or Larry said no!!), overlooking Bronte and Bondi Beach. A Civil ceremony, with close friends and family, all went fantistically well, bar a few unflattering gusts of wind, and an inconsoulable baby who was probably feeling a bit left out of the occassion!!
Yes it is now official, and before you all ask, I did get permission from Zoe to broadcast this piece of news to you all, and let you in on some pictures. As one of the CHIEF photographers (although muzza would have an argument with me over that), I had licence to take photos of whoever and whatever i liked, just to get the feel of the moment. So let me take you back there.
Well, to start with, Muzz and I had planned to get Larry out the night before, for the traditional stag night, but being the sensible one
that he is, OLD Larry declined the idea in favour of a romantic dinner with his future wife (Ahhh!). This left muzz (who came down from Newcastle especially for the event, and was unofficially staying in our room at our backpackers hostel!), and I with a plan but no groom for the celebration. So we used Carmen (my Carmen that is) instead, and went out on the piss. After several tooheys new and old (the local brand here in sydney), some pretty obvious oggling at some beautiful looking women (much to the amusement of Carmen), a kebab and some form of Turkish pide, we staggered back to our room (trying to inconspicuously hide muzz from the overlooking night manager of the hostel), and finally fell asleep at some god forsaken hour.
The next morning brought with it the obviously forthcoming headache, nausea, and need for a greasy fried breakfast and gallons of water. We needed to be at the park for 12. Muzz was driving and I was navigating............................Hummmm, you can gather what went on in the car, but we got there on the dot, with only the sight of Larry, dressed in his bestest white shirt and shorts,
I'm not suppossed to be here am I?
David- "right, you two stand here and i'll do the blessings...........we are gathered here today............shit! wrong speech!!" frantically texting on his mobile, as he was the only one there!!!
The weather was really fantastic, with not a cloud in the sky, although a bit blustery up on the cliffs. The view overlooking Bronte and Bondi was absolutely amazing, with crystal clear waters, and not a sound of any annoying kids around the park, swearing blind at their mothers, or trying to pull their little sisters hair out!!!
It was hard for Zoe and Larry to keep a straight face through the ceremony, mainly through the ghastly screaming of little Lilly, who had taken it upon herself to upstage them both, and pull all attention to her by screaming and crying in a manner fit for an epileptic!! Gusts of wind trying to blow zoe's skirt up (ala Lady in red), 2 blokes with sore heads pointing big lense cameras in their faces to get the perfect shot for them, and a joviel aussie minister, all made for a fabulous event.
After the ceremony, Lots of champagne, more photos, then off for a lovely meal at an italian restaurant, overlooking the famous Bondi Beach. Some voyeuristic photography of some gorgeous bodies lying on the beach
by yours truely, received some rather unpleasant remarks, but after several glasses of champagne, the headache had gone, and nothing seemed to matter any more (wahhey!!!).
The meal itself was fantastic, with the restaurant empty, we had the staff all to ourselves, which worked out great. The father/best man speech was made by zoe's brother, David, who gave such a speech, it rendered the girls (and some of ther lady boys) to tears. This speech was, ofcourse, practiced for sometime, with the pure aim of getting Zoe to shed a tear, which worked great. Just not sure it was meant to wet the whole table!!!
Larry's speech was perfectly complimenting, and by the end, with even the waiters shedding tears, end of dinner photos of the group were taken, and we wished Larry and Zoe well for their future lives together, as they headed of to their honeymoon suite (overlooking sydney harbour).
For the rest of us, well we just headed back home to nurse our now sobering and relentlessly throbbing heads!!
