Good Day Mates
While outside the circus is doing it's best to entertain it's visitors I am relaxing in our room at the Port Maquarie hostel. We arrived here shorlty after 19h local time after an exhausting ride in the car. The day started nicely with breafast in Tamworth. Before heading to the coast again, Kevin suggested a stop in the cute town of Quirimbie. After Quirimbie it was time to start our trip to Port Macquarie. When looking for an "interesting scenery" on the map Kevin chose this way to Port Macquarie which was marked with a dotted line on the map. Unfortunately there was no legend on the map, so we were unsure on the meaning of the dotted line. But we had all confidence in our GPS. ....
The journey started off ok... but than it started...gravel roads at first and than we drove straight through mother nature : we drove through a National Park. A jeep would have been a better option as the roads were really really awful. But than again, we saw some breath taking views. It felt like riding through the Swiss Alps. Mind you, I have never done that in my life. So all credits to Kevin who drove us safely back to the "normal" roads and so we reached our destination once again safely.
Let me take the opportunity as well to thank Tom, Ken, Jacques, Antonio, Werner, Bernard and Joaquim for the guidance they gave us via the GPS.
We are off to enjoy some seafood now. The weather was perfect today and so hopefully it remains like that tomorrow so that we can hit the beach before heading to the Hunter ( wine) Valley. Newcastle will be tomorrow's destination.
