Nelsons Bay
View from the boat, waiting to go dolphin spotting Alissa very kindly invited us to stay with her and her family for a few days so we started our 1st road trip and followed Lis home (Tues 2 Oct). It was the most amazing scenery and the beaches were awesome. Unfortunately it was scalding hot (even on the tag scale!) and the wind was quite strong so I didn't get to take any photos, we were just trying to find shade (and a milkshake). After some amazing hospitality until Thurs we thought we'd better be brave and go it alone so we headed for Nelson's Bay, a great spot for dolphin watching.
We headed for Samurai YHA for the night, a great hostel on the edge of a forest. Having agreed to cook macaroni cheese I was quite amused to see they had an outside kitchen but not to be beaten, the bacon got done on the bbq and singeing only a few of my eyebrows, got the gas rings burning for cheese sauce and pasta.
