Nov 10. (continued) Drove to Scotts Head. Twelve waratah. Jan and Russel. Tea and Sandwich. All in readiness. Sublime swim lee shore. Life giving view, beach stretching away to Nambucca Heads. Green hills behind. 'Whale Table' in park a gem. Photographer local paper did photos. Such a warm welcome. Jan's moussaka marvelous. Such a splendid place. Evening gathering. About 35 attended. Very on-side group. Enjoyable. Interesting input. Many wanted stickers afterwards.
Nov 11. Jan's garden of natives attracting numerous birds. Mother and two calves slapping and breaaching. Calves got so far out of the water it looked like they were standing on their noses, tall straight up. Successful spruik at beach. Dinner with Russel, Jan, Mike and Melanie.
Nov 12. Intense feeding offshore. Great rushes, splashes and leaps. Couldn't make out participants. Maybe dolphins. Later fish feeding, gulls in for a meal, great patches white ocean froth. Three black swans floating amidst the sea sparkle. Raven on the railing called crow but. And glorious sunlight. Departed the castle. Then swim spruik Scotts Head. Children playing, al fishing boats dragged ashore. The red and gold flags. The chatter and screams (of delight). Black rocks. Blue, blue, blue white, green, green white, blue green. And maybe twelve wattle or waratah! Jan said contact before arrival and she'll set up an address to Bellingen Institute. Reckon I'll return in March/April. For now its been fabulous. The Hunter Valley beckons.Time and timelessness. The dots are twelve red waratah.
Nov 13. Observed beetroot red/maroon surf. Purple tide Port Macquarie. Early visit ABC Mid North Coast. Taped for 'this week' broadcast. Cameron. Long interview. Won't know how much goes to air. Spruik around town. We're here too. Solid support. Love and courage. There's an answer to everything. You've just got to find it. Later the lifeguard on empty beach takes in flags and surfboard as rain begins its pelt. Lightening thunder.
