Who are Amber and Toby?

This is our first real entry in a first Travel Blog. We've both been overseas before but never for so long and this seems a great way to keep in touch.

So, who are we?

Well, we're both ambulance paramedics, living in Canberra, Australia. Amber grew up in Canberra and I moved here about 10 years ago. Although it's the capital of Australia (no, Sydney is not the capital of Australia), Canberra is little more than a big country town -- only 300,000 people, lots of bushland, clean air and a great lifestyle.

Although, we love it here, there's a big beautiful world out there to see and we're off to see it.

We have 6 months off work to travel the world and off we go! We leave Australia on 11 November. First, Peru and Bolivia where I plan to walk the Inca Trail. Then to Canada, where I plan to indulge my passion for skiing and Amber her passion for relaxing in hot springs. Christmas in Vancouver and New Years in Alberta. After that, it's off to the UK and Europe. And then home again some time in April or May.

Our plans are not set in stone, so if anyone has suggestions for things we simply must see or do, by all means, get in touch with us.

We have no kids but we do have a cat who unfortunately can't come along. So... we're bringing along Pengy to represent the cat. Pengy is a small stuffed Penguin we picked up on our last adventure in Tasmania. Our goal is to get Pengy into as many interesting places as possible. Hopefully, you will see more of Pengy on this site over the coming months.

Our next entry should be from Peru. So, until then...
