• it reduces stress
• gives us time to recharge
• helps us renew our bond with family
• keeps burnout at bay, and so on;
However, that is usually not enough to get us to actually take it. Reasons are many and varied- because:
• we're afraid to be away from work and our electronic connections
• we don't want to return to a desk-load of work,
• no one else can do my job,
• I don't want to appear replaceable,
• I don't have either money or time,
• what about the children, etc.
• These are genuine, valid reasons but what if after hearing a phrase that
sings to us, we would realize how important it is to take time off and manifest what it took to get ?
I need a break And there are genuine health risks associated with NOT taking time off:

So our job is to search for the phrase which compels us, to do what we need - and want - to do. This is made easier by the fact that we can enter our question into the box of a search engine and press 'enter.' Someone else out there besides me has asked the same question. Get onto travel discussion groups and ask others how they were able to achieve their goals. Talk to friends who are able to travel and hear their secrets.

Most Americans will leave about nine days of vacation time on the table this year, according to a
new survey by Hotwire. Why are we working so hard? It's partly out of fear. Americans are afraid their bosses will think they're lazy or that their job could get eliminated while they're away. But
not taking vacation matters.
John De Graaf, who made a documentary about overworked Americans called
Running Out of Time, has found there is a high cost to not taking vacation.
"Women who don't take regular vacations are anywhere from two to eight times more likely to suffer from depression, and have a 50 percent higher chance of heart disease," he says.For men, the risk of death from a heart attack goes up a third. "We are just like cellphones and iPads -- we have to be recharged on a regular basis, says Joe Robinson, a consultant with Optimal Performance Strategies. He says all this work isn't necessarily making us more productive. And it comes with a huge price tag: "$344 billion a year."
