Here's the plan.

We have never toured the northwest nor been to Yellowstone or Yosemite--those are all first tier destinations. We will also visit many other national parks, monuments, wilderness areas, and forests along the way. This trip will complete my tour of the United States including Hawaii and Alaska and Susan will add many new states as well. The general itinerary is listed below, however, the only thing we know for sure is that it will change. That's part of the fun. We plan to leave around August 10th and return around October 30th. So don't worry--the Halloween Party is still on!

August:
Depart Knoxvegas
Nashville, required visit to the parents
Illinois, stop overnight
MN, visit Aunt Dorothy
South Dakota, badlands, black hills, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse monument, etc.
Montana, Little Bighorn, etc.
Wyoming, Yellowstone
Montana, Bozeman to pick up John then return to Yellowstone

September:
Wyoming, Yellowstone
Montana, take John back to Bozeman, then go to western MN
Idaho, not sure, Sawteeth or Hell's Canyon or who knows
Washington, wine country, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Ranier, Olympic Nat'l Park, and down the coast to Portland. Seattle is a maybe.
Oregon, Mt Hood, back to the coast, Crater Lake

October:
California, Redwoods (Yeah!), down the coast, then over to Yosemite, King's Canyon, Seqouoia
Nevada, maybe Death Valley? definitely NOT Vegas
Arizona, maybe a few days
Utah, may revisit some of our favorite parks
Colorado, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, visit Joe and Diana in Longmont
Nebraska, meet my cousins at their cabin in late October
Return

That's it. Less than three weeks to go so we're getting pumped!
