Our hiking trip along the Appalachian Trail in the Smokey Mountains. 70 Miles from end to end, we spent 6 days and 5 nights on the trail from October 23rd through October 28th, 2007. After climbing to elevation on the first and second day (about 500 ft to 4,500 - 6,000 ft), most of the trip was spent above 5,000 ft, including Clingman's Dome (highest peak on the AT and 3rd highest in the Appalachians) and Mount Guyot (4th highest in the Appalachains).

Late October is a nice time to see the colors in the Smokies.
