On the evening of Aug 31 we came south to Edisto Island to wait out the Hurricanes. Wilson is keeping watch as we travel. Wilson was given to us by my co-workers at Eaton. He was a little upset because we made him watch the boat while we took our trip around the US. He seems OK now as long as we do not mention the trip.
We left Charleston after dark on the evening of August, 31st. We went outside and the ocean was smooth and winds were light so we had to motor most of the way. It took us about 11 hours so when we arrived and tied in the morning we went below and took a nap.
Linda and David friends of Carol’s from Edisto called and said they had a dock we could stay at as long as we needed. The dock belongs to the Tyson family and we have met Mr. Tyson (Tommy) and they are great people. He came down and we caught shrimp & crabs.
As you can see from the pictures, it has been great here. We have
had dinners of shrimp, blue crabs. It is a little tough living off the land but we have not received any donations from our viewers out there yet so I guess we will have to keep going as we are.
Carol got up this morning and caught a flounder, it was 15” long and is now in the cooler awaiting dinner. I guess we will have flounder, baked potato and corn on the cob. You are welcome to come over as we have some left over shrimp.
Hopefully this afternoon we will go into Edisto and hook up to the internet and send this blog update. We will also be looking at the weather for a weather window to head North. If we can find one we will either go up to Georgetown SC or Willington NE. Hopefully the hurricanes have about blown themselves out.
Cheers,
Ron & Carol

Bon Voyage
HI Guys, Have a wonderful time. (Looks like you already are!!). I'll look forward to the updates. Love the pics too. Lilnda and I just got back from Callaway gardens in Georgia. The weather was beautiful and the area was fantastic. Great bicycling! They had a balloon festival, but the wind was too much for them to ascend. They did have a glow on Friday night. I'll try to send pics when I have a chance. Take care. Mark
