So here I am back in hot, dry, brown NEW MEXICO! Im whiter then my entire family...who have been beautifully tanned in Mexico this summer, and I am quieter...what? quieter? ha. ha. NOT!
So Tom iska and Hanna aiti palenius picked me up from the Ahti house this morning and drove me to helsinki. We ate my last ruisleipa sandwhich, and pulla and TRIPPI in the airport, and stuffed eight bars of Fazer sininen into my already overstuffed suitcase! After escaping and tricking the "russian" woman working at check-in, and getting through security with my rotary blazer FULL of those crazy pins, I took my last picture with my cell phone of a real stuffed reindeer in stockmanns. I rolled my carry-on over to the one empty seat near my gate and sat down next to a large asian family...obviously going home from MUUMIMAAILMA (they were ALL wearing muumi paitat!) wearing fanny packs. must be the new style i thought.....niin varma.
so I flew to Amsterdam, where I ran to my connecting flight...(who knew they boarded an hour and a half early...) but thats was fine because I definitely made it on time! During the flight I sat next

welcome home teffi!
i think we are at the baggage claim!to an Italian couple going on vacation to New York. I had the window seat, and it was awesome. During the eight hour flight I watched the movie the 27 dresses, two episodes of Sex in the City, and two episodes of Scrubs...then played tetris for a while...there was a pretty cool TV thing on the seat in front of me and a remote/game controler too! We ate some REALLY bad airplane food, but that was ok because I wasnt to hungry anyway. I slept the last hours into New York's JFK airport, and woke up upon landing. By that time I was SOO tired I didnt even hurry to get my bags and get off the plane...I just sat with my head resting on the seat in front of me. I was BEAT. I claimed my bags, then came customs....where I so innocently got some (poro lihaa, savu kala ja ruisleipa JA oltermanni) finnish foods through the boarder! wooo! When I walked around the gates there was Uncle Mike (my moms brothers) waiting for me!!! It was amazing to see him. I think I actually laughed and cried. It was crazy. We quickly went outside where his friend was

explaining!
i believe im consoling my mother and telling her the lip ring is fake. dont worry! :)circling around with the car. My accent was hilarious. I was picking up every accent I heard and combining them...I believe I had an Australian/New York/British accent when i was speaking to them that first night. I couldnt stop laughing at myself. When we got home my three little cousins Ally, Sam, and Sydney had made welcome home signs for me on the door! It was so great to see them...and oh my gosh...my aunt Keri? AMAZING!!! So I did pull a little prank on them...which totally freaked them out...I wore that fake lip ring off the plane...and if I do say so myself...I looked pretty goth, rockstarish, badass....which of course freaked them out...but later in the evening I told them it was fake and my little cousin Ally who is 9 told me "thankgoodness it is fake teffi...your mom would have FREAKED"...i laughed SO hard when i heard that!
So then thursday July 31st I woke up at 4am. greeted the day happily considering it felt like 11 in the morning (finland time!)!!! The airplane took off by 6:10 am and by 9:30 (but really six hours later) i was jumping up and down in my seat

mommy!
yes. im still taller then her!with excitement and anticipation. Another plane was in our gate so we had to wait ten minutes on the ground in ABQ, and I almost lost it I was so hyper!!!!!
I got off, and looked around. (MAN our airport is small...but very beautiful!) ...thats when i started jogging! i was running...rotary blazer slung over my arm...bags bouncing off my back down the walkway. I looked through the huge revolving door and there was my family. Mom, Dad, Seany and Emi...I was beside myself. Hugs, kisses, tears, laughing, jumping, dancing (yeah that was me) and just being completely FULL of excitement!
We went straight to get my bags, drove to Frontier restaurant, ate Carne Alavada (i definitely CANT spell that) burritos , stopped by Nina and Emils to say hello, then went home where i unpacked all the REINDEER MEAT AND SAVUKALA, then we headed over to my highschool to REGISTER for senior year...CLASS OF 09!!! I absolutly LOVED my HUGE bright yellow welcome home sign in the entrance to the school. it was amazing. and I LOVE THE PEOPLE WHO MADE IT!!! THANKS GUYS!!!!!!! (ja riikka myos. kiiitos!!! oli ihana etta sa autai!) So after registering we
went home to family, and friends who came over and we ate an AMAZING NEW MEXICAN meal with tons of chili and tortillas, and I ate SO many tortillas!! After I went to sleep...and I slept...and slept and SLEPT...i just LOVE jetlag....NIIN VARMA!! 😊
